Activity

The Council annually reviews in detail 14 state-of-the-art instrumentation facilities that support the teaching and research of university and industry scientists. The Council works with the university community and the instrumentation facility managers to identify equipment needs that support university and industry research. A priority for the Council is to foster collaboration to fund the necessary instrumentation to keep the university at the cutting edge of biotechnology research.

Each year the Biotechnology Council reviews numerous applications from five academic colleges and more than 25 departments that request faculty startup funds to recruit new research faculty in molecular biology.
