Ames Alumnae Panhellenic
Charge
The Ames Alumnae Panhellenic serves as a community advisory board to the Collegiate Panhellenic Council (CPC) and the collegiate chapters (13 national and 2 affiliates) at Iowa State University in areas of recruitment, scholarship and programming. They provide small financial academic and leadership development scholarships to the CPC and individual members.
The Office of Greek Affairs, a unit of the Dean of Students Office, sponsors the Ames Alumnae Panhellenic.
Activity
- Provided a $500 scholarship for an undergraduate CPC member to attend the Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute in Indianapolis, IN sponsored by the National Interfraternity Council. This was the first year such a scholarship was provided.
- Provided a small grant for the CPC to bring the Something of Value program to campus in October 2006. The values-based program is a 24-hour mock trial, discussion and culture changing workshop for ten percent of each of the 15 CPC chapters’ membership, two advisors and one national representative.
- Communicated with the Greek Alumni Alliance and University Committee on Fraternities and Sororities. Allyson Walter serves as a member and liaison to all three committees.
