Multicultural Student Programming Advisory Council (MSPAC)
Charge
The Multicultural Student Programming Advisory Council, which was created in 1996 (and functioned under the name of Multicultural Taskforce) with the support of both the Offices of the Provost and the Division of Student Affairs at ISU, is made of a diverse group of ISU students committed to raising awareness and educating the community on diversity and multicultural issues.
The Council acts in an advisory capacity for Multicultural Student Affairs (MSA) and as a funding source for student organization-initiated projects and events promoting diversity awareness and education on campus.
Membership
The Council shall consist of at least 12 voting student members and several ex-officio* (non-voting) staff members.
Student members shall be selected through an application process. At least ten of the voting student members will be members of registered student organizations or student groups and one shall be a member of and represent the Government of the Student Body (GSB).

At least one ex-officio member shall be from the MSA Office and be assigned to manage and coordinate the efforts of the Multicultural Student Programming Advisory Council as well as facilitate Council meetings. Three ex-officio members shall be ISU staff from various Academic and Student Affairs departments, who will rotate in to serve as advisors on the Multicultural Student Programming Advisory Council for a period of one academic year.
Subcommittees
Each MSPAC member serves on a subcommittee. The subcommittees serve and advise Iowa State students and organizations in ways that go beyond funding an event, to helping with event planning and execution. The subcommittees interact closely to better serve those who come to MSPAC. The committees and contact information are as follows:

Activity
The Council funded various diversity-related projects initiated by student organizations. The group is currently involved in the development of the new ISU Multicultural Center and the end of the year event, the "Celebrations!" awards banquet sponsored by the MSA Office. The group has also taken on other MSA promotional projects such as designing the MSA bulletin boards and living room to attract more students to the MSA Office.
