Orientation Committee
Charge
The university Orientation Committee, composed of Iowa State University faculty and staff, is responsible for student orientation programs. The undergraduate colleges of the university, in cooperation with the Office of New Student Programs, have responsibility for the implementation of orientation programs for new students and their families.
Activity
The Orientation Committee conducts an extensive orientation program during the summer, with additional programs held prior to each term. Special orientation sessions are conducted for transfer students prior to each semester. Special orientation programs are also held for international students. New students receive an invitation to attend an orientation program before their first semester at the university. Family members are encouraged to accompany students.
