Naming University Property, President's Advisory Committee on
Charge
The committee has the responsibility of recommending to the president names for buildings and streets. The committee is appointed by the president and may include representation from various university groups (faculty, staff, students, and administrators). The Committee reviews all nominations and transmits its recommendations to the president.
This committee is strictly advisory to the president. The president's approval and that of the Board of Regents, when needed, must precede implementation of naming.
Activity
Generally, nominations may be submitted at any time and the committee will meet (a quorum being present) and act on the nominations in a timely fashion.
